Five Star Students
A quintet of Edge Hill University graduates have picked up prizes for excelling in their studies.
Mary Crean (Nursing), Kathryn Harding (Midwifery), John Stanton (Operating Department Practitioner), Maureen Craig (Health and Social Care) and Michelle Wilcock (Health and Social Care) received awards at the university?s Faculty of Health graduation day for gaining the top marks in their courses.
"This award has come as a real shock as my real aim was just to pass each module," said 30-year-old Michelle, who now works at Alder Hey Children?s Hospital as a paediatric nurse, for which Edge Hill is the largest provider of children?s nurse training. "I?m just pleased to have gained what should be a really useful qualification ? to receive an award as well is a bonus."
Around 300 students donned cap and gown on the day and each award winner received a cheque for £100 and framed certificate for their efforts.
