Edge Hill University Cuts the Mustard
Edge Hill celebrated its status as the country?s newest University last week when around 800 members of staff enjoyed a BBQ at the Ormskirk Campus.
The former college of higher education received official confirmation of the title Edge Hill University in May this year. Staff from all campuses and outreach centres including Liverpool, Cheshire and Manchester gathered in the summer sunshine to enjoy an afternoon to celebrate the transition to university.
Sharon Buckley, Corporate Relations and Events Manager organised the celebrations: "The event was a huge success. All staff have worked extremely hard to achieve university status and the BBQ brought everyone together to celebrate. Staff really have gone that extra mile, particularly throughout an 18 month scrutiny process that preceded confirmation of degree awarding powers and university status."
