Edge Hill Scoops Accolade for Marketing Excellence
Edge Hill has won a Silver award for Best Television Advert at this year?s Heist Awards, which celebrate excellence in marketing for Further and Higher Education organisations.
The institution has benefited from undertaking innovative and cost effective marketing campaigns, resulting in excellent student application figures, which are up by 9% with Performing Arts, Sport, English, Teaching and Health enjoying big rises in applications. Students also had excellent recall of the Edge Hill brand, and a high understanding of its courses and organisational values.
The television advert was one of the first in the education sector to use animation. The campaign was developed in partnership with Manchester-based Euro RSCG Riley, a marketing and communications agency, which project managed the development and delivery of the advert.
The Heist Awards programme has encouraged and rewarded good marketing practice throughout its 18-year history. It is a prestigious and well-regarded programme within the Further and Higher education sector with its results used as a benchmarking tool to drive recruitment strategies forward.
Roy Bayfield, Head of Corporate Marketing at Edge Hill, said, "Winning the award is a rubber stamp of approval for our hard work. Marketing communication not only delivers student numbers, but also plays a part in making sure we get well informed applicants who understand the type of courses on offer and the ethos of Edge Hill as an organisation. This is key to student retention too."
He continued, "The next year and beyond presents us with new challenges relating to our forthcoming University status and I am sure marketing will play a key role."
Edge Hill were also nominated for three further awards in a high quality field which featured 213 entries from over 100 institutions.
