Taster for Tomorrow's Teachers
WIRRAL?S teachers of the future are invited to sample a taste of the profession courtesy of Edge Hill ? one of the largest providers of teacher education programmes in the country.
The Lancashire institution is to host an open evening at the Wirral Education Centre in Bromborough, aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in the classroom.
The two-hour event takes place on March 22nd ? starting at 6pm ? and will cover many study areas including Foundation Degree programmes, Qualified Teacher Status and HLTA training for teaching assistants.
Edge Hill?s dean of the Faculty of Education Robert Smedley said: "Our open evenings offer prospective students a valuable insight into our facilities and courses.
"We are keen to convey that whatever qualifications people have, Edge Hill can map their route to teaching ? if the will is there, there is often a way."
Edge Hill has been training teachers for more than 100 years and has excellent learning facilities including a new £9million purpose-built Centre of Excellence for the Faculty of Education.
