NEW SEASON AT THE ROSE THEATRE

The Rose Theatre is in full bloom again this season with a thrilling line-up of entertainment for spring/summer 2005.

Between February and June this year a variety of acts will tread the boards at the versatile Edge Hill venue, based at the Ormskirk Campus.

From innovative dance to cutting edge comedy, groundbreaking drama to pioneering poets, this season?s line-up caters for all.

"The Rose Theatre prides itself on hosting top quality performances across a wide range of art forms and genres, and this season is no different," said Manager June Gibbons. "There really is something for everyone, and with reasonable admission costs the programme is accessible to all."

The season kicks off with Forecast presenting Ready, a collaboration between a trio of acclaimed dancers on February 1st , followed by an evening of alternative stand up comedy on the 8th, headlined by side splitting songsmith Ian Sainsbury. On a darker note February 10th sees award-winning drama from Company FZ presenting the ethereal Loser.

Song and laughter is provided on the 15th February with Girls Behind, by Louise Roche, the writer of the sensational sell out show Girls Night, before Ballet Lorent presents La Vie Des Fantasmes Erotiques & Esthetiques on 1st March.

In March, poetry enthusiasts are treated to a double dose of Liverpool lyricist Brain Patten with a performance for adults and one for children, after horror writer Ramsy Campbell tells a tale to chill.

The season closes with an outdoor performance of Pride and Prejudice on June 12th when Illyria return to the Rose to present this sell out Austen classic.
