SAFE SANCTUARY?

Edge Hill College of Higher Education is to hold a conference on asylum and refugee issues at the Ormskirk Campus on Friday 22 October, 12.30 until 4.30pm.

The conference invites asylum seekers, refugees, support agency staff, researchers and activists to share experiences, information and ideas.

The programme will focus on some of the key issues affecting the integration of refugees into the community.

Kas Wachala from Edge Hill?s Department of Law and Criminology will be delivering a workshop on people trafficking. "We are delighted to welcome Liz Fekete of the Institute of Race Relations to Edge Hill as keynote speaker for the conference," said Kas. "We will be hearing personal testimonies from refugees, as well as offering a range of workshops, with a question and answer panel composed of asylum seekers, refugees, researchers and representatives from grassroots agencies."
