RECORD NUMBERS ATTEND HEALTH OPEN DAY

A record number of visitors attended Edge Hill?s Faculty of Health Open Day at the Aintree Campus.

Over 250 people flocked to the Aintree Hospital, from the North-West region and beyond, to pick up advice on a range of courses in midwifery, nursing and operating department practice.

Senior Lecturer, Jim Gorman was delighted with the turn out. He said: "We were really pleased with the number of people who visited the Faculty and with the amount of interest shown in the programmes we offer, for both newcomers and qualified health care staff. In particular the Operating Department Practitioner programmes generated lots of interest. This lesser known health profession focuses on the care of patients undergoing all aspects of anaesthesia, surgery and recovery."

The Faculty of Health delivers pre and post registration programmes and a range of continuing professional development opportunities, as well as being home to the Centre for Health Research and Evaluation.
