PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION AT EDGE HILL

Local artist and former Edge Hill Chair of Governors, Malcolm Ford is set to launch his first photography exhibition at Edge Hill?s Ormskirk Campus.

The exhibition, Somewhere Else, opens on Monday 27th September at a private viewing, with photographs on display until November19th.

Malcolm, aged 58, of Southport has a long association with Edge Hill dating back to the 1960s, when he studied as a trainee teacher and became student Governor. Malcolm later returned to Edge Hill to take up postgraduate study and he rejoined the Board of Governors for15 years, including two periods as Deputy Chair of the Board and three years as Chair.

Malcolm, who is the father of two daughters and grandfather of three, is looking forward to exhibiting his photography collection:

"My photographic work spans the last 15 years and much of this exhibition was shot during trips to Australia, New Zealand, USA, Kenya and South Africa. Inspiration comes from being somewhere else. Somewhere else can be anywhere. Wildlife portraits and landscapes, townscapes and surface textures comprise the majority of my work. I will be exhibiting around 30 hand print photographs at Edge Hill, most of them in colour with a few black and white prints."

Malcolm is an artist registered with the Art in the City online gallery, dedicated to increasing the internet presence of artists of all genres, in and around the cities of the United Kingdom. His work can be viewed at www.artinthecity.co.uk.
