COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERING AT EDGE HILL

Edge Hill?s Volunteering Project Coordinator, Andrea Rannard said goodbye to colleagues and students after managing the Active Community Fund volunteering project for the past twelve months.

Having worked with over 100 community groups throughout Lancashire, Cheshire and Merseyside to provide a variety of volunteering projects for the 300 students and staff volunteers, Andrea leaves Edge Hill in a strong position for continuing volunteering projects.

Chief Executive John Cater is sorry to say goodbye to Andrea who will start her new position as Student Volunteer Manager with the University of Manchester.

John Cater said: "Edge Hill has a strong tradition of community engagement and places great importance on volunteering. Andrea has organised a variety of projects and events over the last year that have provided valuable volunteering opportunities for students and staff. Her motivation and enthusiasm has inspired many people to dedicate time and energy to volunteering projects that benefit the wider community."

Edge Hill has developed links with many local organisations and offers a range of volunteering projects with community groups such as Ormskirk Hospital Radio, St Joseph?s Hospice and Ormskirk School.

Volunteering will continue to grow from strength to strength at Edge Hill with many opportunities and events planned for the future, including projects organised by Student Community Action and the new CONNECT volunteering project.
