IT Services

IT Services plays a vital role within Edge Hill, and is responsible for:

(i) all core business systems, including the ICT network and infrastructure, all networked systems, business support systems, telecommunications systems and web sites.

(ii) the strategic development of these systems, aligning developments with business requirements, including teaching and learning.

The Corporate Business Systems Team are responsible for developing and supporting the core business systems, such as Student Records and Finance, which include Oracle and in-house developed databases. Additionally the Business Support Team support networked systems such as GroupWise, the staff e-mail system.

The IT Technical Support team are responsible for developing and supporting all the IT infrastructure including desktop PCs, network servers and the active network hardware.

The Network Services Manager is responsible for developing and supporting both the network and telecommunications infrastructures, with responsibility for performance and resilience, so therefore works closely with the IT Technical Support Team.

The IT Service desk Team, acting as the IT Services interface to the Helpdesk operated by Library and Information Services, works closely with both the Coporate Business Systems and IT Technical Support Teams to offer support to users of these systems.

The Web Services Team are responsible for maintenance and development of Edge Hill's Web services, including the Web site and Intranet. This work is done in conjunction with information providers, teaching staff and teaching support staff throughout Edge Hill.
