Travelling in the UK
The north west of England and the UK has some of the most interesting and historical sites to visit. The major national parks such as the Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales, The North York Moors, The Peak District & the Snowdonia National Park are all within 3 hours drive of Edge Hill University. As well as this major tourist attractions such as the Liverpool waterfront, Chester and York are easy to travel to.
London & Edinburgh are 3 hours by train and Edge Hill is within easy distance of Manchester and Liverpool International airports.
The UK has one of Europe’s most developed transport systems, so wherever you need to get to – whether by road, rail or air – you will find it an easy and enjoyable experience.
You do not need a travel/holiday visa if you are travelling between Wales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Travelling further afield
The UK’s transport system also makes it easy to travel from this country to other parts of Europe and beyond, so if you choose to have a short break or visit home during holiday periods such as Christmas and Easter, you’ll find you have no difficulty doing so.
There are many budget airlines operating from Liverpool & Manchester airports which travel within Europe at very competitive prices. The further in advance you book a flight with a budget airline the cheaper it usually is however, please be aware of extra charges such as checked baggage, priority boarding and online check in.
Before travelling abroad for a holiday you should check visa regulations of the country you are planning to visit and ensure you plan your trip in advance as applying for a visa can take several weeks. Many European countries are members of the Schengen agreement and it may be possible to apply for a Schengen visa to visit many EU countries.
