Study Abroad
The visiting student programme is an opportunity for undergraduates in the US or Canada to experience the UK Higher Education System firsthand. Students from one of our partner colleges spend a semester at Edge Hill. Because of the flexible nature of our programmes, students can choose from an extensive range of courses on offer in the liberal arts, with credit awarded by the student’s home college in the US.
Edge Hill has welcomed over 500 US students onto this programme, and we remain a popular destination for discerning study abroad students who realise that there is more to England than London. A minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale is required, and students must be in good standing in their home institution.
Students remain registered at their home college and pay their fees there. Ask your advisor for details of your home college’s fees for the Edge Hill study abroad programme which normally includes the following:
- Airport pickup/return (Manchester International Airport)
- College and academic orientation
- On-campus accommodation in a single room
- Flexible meal plan allowing up to 12 meals per week on campus
- Four academic courses
- The support of the USA Student Liaison Professor
- All college learning and support services
- Internet and e-mail access via the LRC and LINC buildings
- The services of the Centre for International Education
Please note: Students who withdraw from the Edge Hill study abroad programme will be required to pay cancellation payments. Please check with your study abroad office.
