Language Requirements
International Foundation Programme
Students who are required to have a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK must present a Secure English Language Test for entry to the International Foundation Programme in accordance with UKBA regulations. The minimum requirements are:
- IELTS: 5.0 overall
- TOEFL: 70 overall
- Pearson Test of English (PTE): 50 overall
Undergraduate Degrees
The minimum requirements for Undergraduate Degrees are:
- IELTS: 6.0 overall
- TOEFL: 87 overall
- Pearson Test of English (PTE): 69 overall
Pre-Masters Programme
The minimum requirements for the Pre-Masters Programme are:
- IELTS: 5.5 overall
- TOEFL: 87 overall
- Pearson Test of English (PTE): 59 overall
Postgraduate Degrees
The minimum requirements for Postgraduate Degrees are:
- IELTS: 6.5 overall
- TOEFL: 90 overall
- Pearson Test of English (PTE): 64 overall
Please note that some degrees have a higher requirement than the minimum scores stated above. For further information, please contact the Centre for International Education. Any other equivalent English Language tests that are recognised and approved by the UKBA are also accepted for admission purposes. If your current level of English is lower than our minimum requirement, you may still be offered a place on the course you have applied for with full attendance in one of our Pre-Sessional English Courses.
