International students coming to Edge Hill can expect to receive expert advice and support through their visa application process and, following this, support on campus to ensure they meet the requirements of their visa in the UK.

- Careers advice for students at the end of their course looking for guidance post-study
- Support from our accommodation team when looking for off-campus accommodation and guaranteed on-campus accommodation for students who apply before the deadline of 1st August
- Advice on banking, academic, personal, health and work issues from our dedicated Student Information Centre and Centre for International Education
Throughout 2011 there have been several changes to the UK Visa regulations; however, the UK Border Agency continues to recognise Edge Hill University as a well-established, reputable, successful university. Edge Hill University has been granted ‘Highly Trusted Sponsor’ status by the UKBA which guarantees that:
- Students on degree level courses or above are permitted to work up to 20 hours during term-time and full-time during vacation periods
- Postgraduate students on a course of 12 months or longer, or government sponsored students taking a course longer than six months are permitted to bring dependants with them. Dependants are permitted to work without restriction
- Students on a course of longer than 12 months will be granted 4 months extra leave on the end of their course end date.
- Students on a course of longer than 6 months will be granted 2 months extra leave on the end of their course end date.
- Students who are offered a graduate level job with a salary of £20 000 or more per year with a Tier 2 employer will be eligible to apply for a work permit following successful completion of their studies. Many UK & International businesses based within the UK hold a Tier 2 sponsor licence.
- If you want to start your own business in the UK you will be able to apply for a new student entrepreneur visa.
