E Solutions
The ‘e’ in e-learning has played a significant role in developing new technologies that have brought collaboration and shared approaches to the learning process. Historical e-learning has primarily been based on the use of the Internet and email features. Today, the excitement attached to the ‘e’ in e-learning is not electronic; instead the ‘e’ focuses on enhanced learning. This is fuelled by the rise in social networking and its application to higher education and life-long learning.
The Faculty of Health and Social Care shares the same passion and drive to facilitate learning using the new technologies to enhance collaborative learning. Within our programmes there are numerous variations on how the technology is integrated; one example is the use of a patient’s recording describing their treatment so that the learner can listen attentively and fine-tune their communication skills.
Our interest in the use of technology is one of offering choice and diversity to the learner. The modules/programmes are designed to suit all learners irrespective of age, creed, religion, disability, sexuality and technical abilities.
