About CONNECT

CONNECT is designed to address this by creating a membership of both staff and students who will be able to work together to arrange and take part in a variety of social events and activities. These could be simple things like going shopping, to the cinema, theatre or a football match – the possibilities are truly endless.

CONNECT members will be able to make a positive difference to the lives of other people – and will receive comprehensive training in a variety of areas – such as disability equality, manual handling and will have an active voice in how CONNECT will develop and evolve.

CONNECT provides the opportunity for you to do the things you enjoy – get your expenses paid – and most importantly make a real difference to someone’s life. There are posters and leaflets around campus advertising this very worthwhile initiative – and I would encourage everyone to seriously consider becoming a member. Here are some of the benefits on offer:

• You’ll receive a 20% discount at the Rose Theatre.
• You’ll be a part of something new and innovative – and be able to make a real difference to the lives of other students.
• You’ll receive comprehensive training, free of charge, in a variety of interesting topic areas.
• Edge Hill will pay expenses towards a variety of costs (e.g. travel / food / tickets to events etc.)

CONNECT is a joint venture between the Students’ Union and Student Services – with representatives from all sectors of the college and is funded by Aimhigher. Edge Hill is the first to pilot a social club like CONNECT – so it is my hope that we can make this a real success making everyone’s student / staff experience at Edge Hill a great one!
