Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP)
A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a business-university collaboration aimed at improving competitiveness, productivity and performance. The knowledge sought is embedded into the business from the university through a project, or projects, undertaken by a recently qualified person (known as the Associate), recruited to specifically work on that project. KTPs can vary in length from 6 months to three years, depending on the needs of the business and the desired outcomes, and can attract up to 67% grant funding to support costs.
In many cases KTPs involve the development or use of new, innovative technologies, but can also be used to support many types of projects. KTP allows access to experts to spearhead new projects, develop solutions to help your business grow and improve performance, and enhance competitive advantage and profitability.
