Rob Foster is the U.K. National Coordinator for the Childrens Identity and Citizenship in Europe (CiCE) network.
CiCe is one of the European Commission's Socrates Thematic Networks. It is a network of about 100 higher education institutions, from 29 countries in Europe. Its members share an interest in the way in which children and young people learn about citizenship in the European context, and how they construct their identities. The courses taught in the network’s colleges and universities, and the research undertaken, are about the way that individuals, from birth to late teens, understand and learn about social, political and economic affairs.
Vicky Duckworth is a member of RaPAL:
‘RaPAL campaigns for the rights of all adults to have access to the full range of literacies in their lives. It supports democratic practices in adult literacy work and its members believe that a learning democracy can only be achieved if teaching, learning and research are kept together. A dynamic relationship between research and practice keeps the meaning of literacy open and responsive to the variety of changing social contexts and practices that exist in our society’.
